# Leaftag — Tags for the Filesystem Leaftag was an experiment I worked on with my friend (and Beanbag co-founder) David Trowbridge. This was an [[SQLite]]-based database, command line tools, library, and bindings for letting users tag files on a filesystem with one or more tags. You could look up files by tag, and use this to better organize your files. The modules we provided were: * `libleaftag` * `libleaftag-gtk` * `leaftag-gnome` * `leaftag-gtk-sharp` * `leaftag-python` * `tagutils` We got an article in the August 2006 issue of Linux Magazine, which was fun. ![[IMG_1415.jpeg]] ![[IMG_1416.jpeg]]
